About the Project

"On our way..." is a work of digital scholarship created in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a graduate research seminar in Digital History at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Both the project and research will be integrated into the author's Master's thesis.

Acknowledgements

This project was developed under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Douglas Seefeldt and with the assistance and encouragement of Jason Heppler and my fellow 970 classmates. A special thanks to Tim Morse for allowing me to "meet" the journal in person and for his contribution in sharing our ancestor's story. I am also indebted to my great-grandfather Charles A. Nash for his resourcefulness and firm grasp of the importance in preserving such a unique artifact. Had it not been for his transcription more than eighty years ago, I might never have known of the wonderful gift Alcander left behind for future generations.
